IQOO has officially confirmed that the brand will launch the iQOO 8 series in China on August 17th. Teasers for phones have been around for quite some time now. Leaks also suggest that the iQOO 8 series will be the first to come with Snapdragon 888+ SoC.
The brand unveiled the launch poster on Weibo. The poster roughly translates to “Full Control Dawn of the iQOO 8 Series Conference.” The all-new iQOO smartphone was seen at the recent ChinaJoy convention. According to the leaks, the iQOO 8 could support charging speeds of up to 160 W.
IQOO 8 Series Specs (Rumored)
The devices could feature the Snapdragon 888 Plus. This processor is an overclocked version of the original Snapdragon 888. The Plus variant is clocked at speeds of up to 3 Ghz, compared to 2.8 Ghz on Snapdragon 888.
The phone is expected to come with a QHD display that offers a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels. The screen has two curved edges as seen in the hands-on photos, and the bottom edge of the phone is flat. It should also have 12 GB of RAM + 4 GB of virtual RAM and 256 GB of storage. The phone is said to run on Vivo’s OriginOS 1.0-based Android 11 operating system.
There is no information from the brand regarding the launch of the phones outside of China. The company recently announced the launch of the Monster Orange color variant of iQOO 7. The company claims that the new Monster Orange color is formed by combining nearly 50,000 pixels in the rear panel of the iQOO 7.
The iQOO 7 is already available in Storm Black and Solid Ice Blue colors. The phone is priced at Rs 35,990 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The iQOO 7 comes with a 6.62-inch FHD + AMOLED display, Snapdragon 870 chip, 8GB of RAM and more.
